The beautiful town of Stroudsburg was incorporated in 1815 and lies at the confluence of Pocono, McMichaels, and Broadhead Creeks, and provides easy access to the wondrous Delaware Water Gap. Stroudsburg is commonly referred to as the “heart of the Poconos” due to its central location in the vast Pocono Mountains region of Northeast Pennsylvania. A little-known fact about Stroudsburg is it was the birthplace of the famous J.J. Newberry department stores.

Tourism is by far the biggest industry in Stroudsburg, and it's no wonder why. The entire town is filled with gorgeous mountain views. The town itself is simply gorgeous. The sidewalks are made of slate, and the town is very walkable. Beautiful, historic buildings line Main Street. One downtown featured attraction is the Stroud Museum and Library, located in the beautiful, colonial house built by Colonel Jacob Stroud, the founder of Stroudsburg. There are shops of every type and numerous individually owned businesses. Many colorful murals adorn some of the buildings and mark the beginning of the town’s arts and culture scene. The historic Penn Stroud Hotel is located in the heart of the downtown district. Built in 1833, the boutique was renovated to enjoy modern amenities while preserving the timeless character of the original hotel. The structure is magnificent! There is also a plethora of restaurants to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

And if this isn’t enough, the annual fall changing of the leaves brings out incredible colors all over the area. In addition to the snow season, this time of year brings out the tourists.
